About Us

Many children with autism and their families face daily struggles. Alpine Learning Group, The EPIC School, Garden Academy, and REED Academy are dedicated to easing these daily struggles and turning uphill battles into achievements. All donations raised from the bike event benefit the four Northern New Jersey schools. By collaborating on this event, we are using one voice to spread the message that everyone, from children to adults, can make a difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families.

Alpine logo NEWIn 1989, Alpine Learning Group opened its doors as one of the first nonprofit autism education centers in Bergen County. Throughout Alpine Learning Group’s growth, the organization’s mission has remained constant: to provide learners with autism and their families comprehensive, scientifically-validated educational and behavioral services designed to foster individual growth and personal achievement. Located in Paramus, Alpine Learning Group serves learners and families across the lifespan through its education, adult and outreach programs.

Epic logo NEW 2013 wideThe Educational Partnership for Instructing Children (EPIC) is a non-profit school dedicated to providing educational services for individuals with autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD). Reed Academy logoREED Academy is a private non-profit school for children between the ages of 3 to 21 with autism spectrum disorders. REED is committed to providing the most effective science-based intervention to individuals with autism so that they can achieve their greatest independence and productivity and become contributing members of their families and communities. ABOUT AUTISM

Autism is a neurobiologically-based developmental disability that emerges during a child’s first three years of life. 1 in 88 children in America are on the autism spectrum and autism is more prevalent than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. Children with autism display marked impairments in communication and social relatedness, and demonstrate a restricted range of interests and behavior. Significant deficits in language and socialization may place children with autism at risk for developing severe behavior problems such as tantrums, aggression, and self-injury. Autism knows no racial, ethnic or social boundaries.

Every child with autism faces unique challenges, and every family affected by autism needs reliable support and expert guidance. With early intensive behavioral intervention, children with autism and their families can meet autism’s challenges and reach their maximum potential.
